Members are strongly encouraged to vote.
 
A tentative agreement (TA) has been reached between Hawaii Government Employees Association Unit 6, Educational Officers, and the employer for a four-year contract agreement. Included members of HGEA bargaining unit 6 will be entitled to vote on the TA at any of the ratification sites. If the TA is ratified, funding will be secured in this legislative session and there will be no changes to the unit 6 agreement. If the tentative agreement is not ratified HGEA bargaining Unit 6 will proceed to an arbitration currently scheduled for June 5 - 10.
 
This is a (4) four-year contract for a total of 13.53%
Effective July 1, 2017- June 30, 2021
 
Effective July 1, 2017
a) 1.8% across the board increase
 
Effective January 1, 2018
a) All employees will move one step on the salary schedule
b) A 1.4% lump sum payment will be paid to employees on the maximum step of the salary schedule; or those who are not administratively assigned to the salary schedule.
 
Effective July 1, 2018
b) 2.05% across the board increase
 
Effective January 1, 2019
c) All employees will move one step on the salary schedule
d) A 1.4% lump sum payment will be paid to employees on the maximum step of the salary schedule; or those who are not administratively assigned to the salary schedule.
 
Effective July 1, 2019
c) 1.8% across the board increase
 
Effective January 1, 2020
e) All employees will move one step on the salary schedule
f) A 1.4% lump sum payment will be paid to employees on the maximum step of the salary schedule; or those who are not administratively assigned to the salary schedule.
 
Effective July 1, 2020
d) 1.8% across the board increase
 
Effective January 1, 2021
g) All employees will move one step on the salary schedule
h) A 1.4% lump sum payment will be paid to employees on the maximum step of the salary schedule; or those who are not administratively assigned to the salary schedule.
 
Letter of Understanding- a Letter of Understanding between the parties to continue discussion with a commitment on addressing mutually agreed upon issues that impact Unit 6 members.
